THE PROPERTY

The magnificent entrance to Rosewood London, features a central carriageway entrance and dome leading into a grand courtyard, which provides a calm sanctuary away from the bustle of the city. Once through, you may think you have accidentally wandered into a high-society private club with the display of luxury super cars such as Rolls Royces and Bentleys– a feeling more akin to a British manor rather than a hotel.

The building itself used to be the headquarters of an insurance company, which then was bought and briefly owned by another hotel chain, and ultimately was transformed to what it is now, the Rosewood London– The perfect blend of English heritage, contemporary sophistication and a dash of British flamboyance.

One of the most dramatic features of this five-star heritage hotel is the Renaissance-style seven-storey grand staircase, an architectural tour de force in marble.

Inside, the lobby is rich and quirky in every detail and has an abundance of furnishings, textures, and curiosities.

The elegant guestrooms reflect the style of a British residence and offer privacy, warmth, quality and nobility.

Like any smart and understanding hotel, the mini bar treats are complimentary. A pleasant perk, that quite frankly, more establishments should offer. Granted that the champagne and wine are extra, the curated selection of artisan-styled beverages and snacks offered a level of thoughtfulness that confirmed to us that Rosewood London is more than a hotel… it’s a little more like home away from home.

As with any proper visit to London, afternoon tea is a must, and Rosewood London does not disappoint! Firstly, the Mirror Room is exquisite. The beguiling jewel-box design of the Mirror Room captivates the essence of British high tea culture with an understated formality and relaxed elegance.

While Rosewood London may not be for the faint of wallet, it is most certainly tremendous value for experience that you’ll be looking forward to visiting again, at least for tea, any time you hear London calling.

WHAT WE LOVE:

  • LOCATION. You do not need to venture far for dining and entertainment, as theRosewood London  is close to plenty of restaurants, bars and the West End theatres. The City and capital’s major tourist attractions are not far either, making it is an ideal base for both business and sightseeing.

  • FOODIE’S DELIGHT. Rosewood London has two excellent restaurants, each having its own unique vibe but still features the same creative, well-executed, and refined dishes.

  • NOBLE SERVICE. As you would expect from any luxury hotel of this caliber.
