After an hour’s drive from the Nice airport, we arrived to our destination– we drove up to an unassuming facade with semi-opaque textured glass doors bearing the hotel’s name. A young gentleman came to greet us, helped us with our luggage and informed us that he’ll take care of parking our car.
It was love at first sight as we entered. Hotel Les Roches Rouges ‘s lobby is a perfect lifestyle setting with polished concrete floors, a very sexy De Sede DS-600 leather sofa, Charlotte Perriand’s wicker coffee table, Guy Bareff’s terracotta wall lights, hand curated books, and wooden trestles that welcome you.
The rooms follow the resort’s aesthetic suit, with its bohemian-relaxed styling. The room was devoid of television so we can enjoy the sounds of the crashing waves and breathtaking sea views.
Soothing colors of azure blue, pure white, and ochre red is celebrated liberally throughout the property. The outdoor restaurant, bar, 2 pools(fresh and salt water), and loungers are where you can enjoy long days in the sunshine, savouring the passing hours, and tasting the simple yet sophisticated joys of a holiday in this barefoot paradise.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily at the hotel’s La Plage restaurant, and dinner is available at La Terrasse on Friday and Saturday.
Hotel Les Roche Rouge’s low-key vibe, good provençal-style food and design makes it a wonderful seaside place on the French Riviera.
HERMIT TIPS:
The spa, which has just three treatment rooms, offers a range of therapies. Choose from serious face and body revitalising using Esthederm products, alongside scrubs, massages, reflexology and restorative facials.
The hotel has snorkelling equipment on hand if you’d fancy a dip below the waters in search of anemones, scorpion fish and other life aquatic. Weather and sea conditions permitting, of course.
