HONG KONG: KERRY HOTEL

Ten minutes cab ride from Kowloon station, the quiet area of Hung Hong Bay holds Hong Kong’s newest kid on the block, Kerry Hotel Hong Kong. A breath of fresh air from the hotels situated in the busier areas of Hong Kong. Just opened last April 2017, this property was designed by architect wonder kid, Andre Fu, who’s responsible for other fabulous hotels like The Upperhouse, Fullerton Bay Singapore, Four Seasons Seoul to name a few.
The fluid lines, neutral palette, use of warm wood and natural materials lure you in upon entering the main lobby.
We stayed in their Deluxe Sea View King room which was very spacious. The bathroom was massive and fitted with a tub. Did we mention we had a ridiculously amazing panoramic view of the harbour and Hong Kong island’s skyline?
When you book one of their Club rooms or are a Diamond Golden Circle member(Shangri-La’s loyalty program, for the uninitiated), you get access to The Club lounge where you can enjoy your breakfast, have afternoon tea, and cocktails during your stay.
The hotel provides a wide array of dining options, including four restaurants and a bar: Big Bay Café which features interactive cooking stations, Dockyard which is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, Hung Tong for classic-contemporary Chinese cuisine, The Lobby Lounge for afternoon tea, and Red Sugar bar which overlooks Hong Kong Island’s spectacular skyline.
Kerry Hotel Hong Kong has one of the most comprehensive fitness centers in the city, with a 24-hour gym complete with state-of-the-art equipments, a spinning studio, an infinity pool overlooking Victoria Harbour, a sauna and jacuzzi to relax in after your workout.
Kerry Hotel Hong Kong has everything you could wish for in a city hotel, but with a lot more comfort and style than you’d expect. Next time you’re in Hong Kong, be it for business or pleasure, spend a few days in Kerry Hotel Hong Kong. You won’t regret it.
HERMIT TIPS:
Since the hotel is very new, you might have difficulty finding it. Upon arriving Hong Kong International Airport, visit the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts Airport Counter in the Main Arrivals Hall, Counter B8, opposite Exit B for directions or transfers.
Getting to the hotel via MTR? Leave the station through Exit C of Whampoa MTR station and turn right out of the station. Continue down Shung King Street, over the traffic lights at the crossroads. Turn left at the crossroads onto Hung Luen Road and the Kerry Hotel is on the right hand side.
