After plotting our 2-day drive from London to Scotland, we decided to makes Leeds our overnight pitstop. We stayed at a new player in the Leeds hotel scene, Dakota Deluxe which opened just April this year. Compared to the hotels we’ve seen driving up to Scotland, Dakota Deluxe Leeds was a breath of fresh air with its slick, modern facade.
The hallways leading to the rooms was dimly lit with glamour photographs on each end giving it a sense of nostalgia.
The rooms was spacious and had neutral, muted palettes creatively contrasted against dark wood floors and furniture. The bathroom was gracefully styled.
Situated right in the center of Leeds, means that lots of cafés, bars, and restaurants are at your fingertips. But on this stay, we were tired from the drive and opted to dine at the hotel’s Bar & Grill then a night cap at the hotel’s Champagne Room.
At first, we didn’t really expect much about the hotel and thought it would just be like any other business hotels; but then again, the best ones are the least expected ones.
With its stylish interiors, prime location, and general air of British finesse and personal service, Dakota Deluxe Leeds certainly is setting new heights in luxury boutique hoteling to Leeds’ hotel scene.
HERMIT TIPS:
If you’re bringing a car, the hotel doesn’t have parking nor valet services. However, you can park at the nearby mall. The hotel offers validated parking and a 25% discount.
There’s a coffee shop right outside the hotel called La Bottega Milanese. They serve excellent coffee and pastries!
